Candeo’s Schoolwide Challenge~Enrich Projects:
Education includes teaching, learning and applying knowledge with proper conduct and a degree of appropriate competency. At Candeo, “Challenge~Enrich” projects allow students and families the opportunity to take their learning even further. The rich content of Core Knowledge provides students interesting concepts to learn more deeply. They then apply what they’ve learned through smaller products in a “Bloom’s Matrix”. As a result of a Bloom’s project, students learn the different levels of thinking (Bloom’s Taxonomy) and are able to use their individual learning style(multiple intelligence preference) to produce products relevant to them. They learn new concepts in a time appropriate and self-desired way so the result is deep understanding, confidence and personal pride.
Because a “Challenge~Enrich” project involves time dedicated outside the classroom, it remains flexible to the families of Candeo. There may be parts of the project that are required by the teacher because they meet state standards and are therefore completed, for the most part, in the classroom. However, families, teachers and students work together to determine the appropriate modifications so that the project remains “challenging and enriching” for all and not busy work that interferes with family time. At Candeo, we are respectful of the time outside of school that you wish to put forth toward the building of knowledge within your child.
